FULL MINISTRY DESCRIPTIONS
Diaconate Ministry
Meeting: Every 1st Saturday at 1 p.m.
“In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must be first tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.”
1 Timothy 3:8-10 (NIV)
At The Hill, Deacons are committed, visible, approachable, accountable and strive to serve in 5-star excellence. We impart and create impact. We assist with the preparation of the Holy Sacraments, caring for the poor, the sorrowing, the stranger, visiting the sick and ministering to the spiritual interests of the church and community. Most importantly, deacons are called to serve the people of God and to be the lead vision carriers of his vision. We have a special responsibility to be our Bishop Designate's armor-bearers, and to work alongside him in meeting all goals and objectives for our congregation.
Hospitality Ministry
"For I was hungered, and ye gave me meat; I was thirsty and ye gave me drink, I was a stranger and ye took me in. Naked, and ye clothed me, I was sick and ye visited me, I was in prison and ye came to me.”
Matthew 25:35-36 (KJV)
The Hospitality Ministry at The Hill serves many critical functions in our church. We are responsible for displaying five-star hospitality to our guests, members and the public through our smiles, hugs, generosity and quality of service. We serve dinner EVERY Wednesday night for “Bread for Life” Bible Study, breakfast for Sunday School, and food for any church events. Additionally, our ministry is responsible for the cleanliness of the church which includes the fellowship hall, restrooms, pastoral office and more. We welcome you to come and experience our five-star hospitality through our food, love and amazing service.
Joshua Generation (Ages 16-30)
“Go in and take possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.”
Joshua 1:11 (BSB)
The Joshua Generation is composed of our older youth and young adults. They are a group of brilliant minded leaders that are determined to see the promises of God come to pass in their lives. They use their creativity, passion, talents and gifts to turn dreams and ideas into reality. They understand they are a chosen generation for such a time as this. Therefore, it is our responsibility at The Hill to educate, equip and empower our youth and young adults with biblical principles and practical strategies as they go out to change their communities, circles of influence and make their global footprint on the world.
Royal Court Youth Ministry (Ages 0-15)
Meetings: Every 3rd Saturday at 2:00 pm
"Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
At The Hill, we provide a safe haven for all youth (believers and non-believers). Therefore, we strive to provide an atmosphere where they can feel safe, loved and a place they can fellowship freely. Our youth are actively engaged in Sunday School. They participate in church events and they lead Sunday Morning Worship every 4th Sunday.
In addition, the Royal Court has their very own snack shop called “The Snack ‘n’ Pak. We use this as a way of teaching the youth about entrepreneurship, responsibility, and integrity. The proceeds go toward fun trips like Hershey Park, skating, slumber parties, game nights, and other fun activities.
Every 3rd Saturday, we carve out time for the Royal Court to have fun. As well as, providing them with an open forum for them to discuss matters of the heart. We equip and mentor them with the Word of God, practical life skills and financial literacy.
Kingdom & Jr. Knights Men's Ministry
“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”
Proverb 27:17 (KJV)
A knight was expected to have the strength and skills to face combat and also be of great character. The Knights Code of Chivalry was a moral system that went beyond the rules of combat. Qualities such as bravery, courtesy, honor and gallantry toward women, were the hallmarks of knighthood. Some knights became mercenaries for hire while others decided to pledge themselves to defending the Christian faith. Count the Kingdom Knights of The Hill are among those who stand for Christ and the Word of God.
The goals of the Kingdom Knights are:
-
To be a ministry for service
-
To witness and praise the goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ
-
To mentor the young men in need of guidance
-
To encourage all males to become involved and participate in Christian activities
-
To help others outside the fold to come in and give their life to Christ.
-
The objectives of the Men’s Ministry are:
-
To serve the church in any capacity as required
-
To meet, learn, fellowship and uplift the Lord with praise and worship
-
To form a cohesive bond among all men

Titus 2:3-5 (NKJV)

Social Media & Marketing Ministry
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6 (NIV)
The Hill is a cornerstone ministry striving to make a difference in our church community as well as surrounding areas in Howard County. It is our intention to stretch across this great State to make a global impact spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through technology.
This ministry was launched early in 2019 and designed to get the word out about our Church, services and activities to other churches and community partnerships through print by utilizing all available social media outlets: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Zoom and our Website. We will begin to use our church newsletter to reach area businesses and others as well in an effort to work together to provide more services to those who are disadvantaged, forgotten and/or underprivileged.
We extend an open invitation to you and your families, friends and neighbors to come share with us in a unique worship encounter. Your life will never be the same, the best is yet to come!! Our doors swing on welcome hinges. We’ll be looking for you!
